Vera and Grace are best friends, but one day, Grace and her family move to the other side of the world. Vera is distraught and finds herself wishing on a star to help get her back. Until the night she discovers that star is gone too. It is only through her new friend that she learns that the stars move and even though she cannot see it now, Grace can, and it is something they can share.
What I Liked: I think this has a great message about friendship and how to deal with losing a friend after they move away. Vera is very upset, but she finds a way to keep in touch with Grace and makes a new friend in the process. I like how it teaches kids about the stars too and how to make a star map. It is something fun that they can do with their friends.
What Left Me Wanting More: Not much, I thought the story was well written, the illustrations helped tell the story and it had a strong message of hope and friendship.
Final Verdict: A positive and helpful book for children dealing with a friend moving away. It encourages learning and getting outside of your comfort zone to make new friends. I would recommend it.
