Grizzle Grump is my spirit animal. He's having a very hard time finding a quiet place to hibernate for the winter. The major problem is that everywhere he does, something wakes him up. I could totally relate, and I'm sure the little ones will too.

What I loved: The story follows Grizzle Grump as he searches for a quiet place to sleep. The illustrations are colorful and warm, perfect for autumn. The forest animals are drawn with humor and whimsy. Their facial expressions react to everything Grizzle does. There's a squirrel who follows Grizzle along his quest, and looks truly indignant for his friend!

Grizzle goes from a busy forest, to noisy river, and even to the scary swamp. But everywhere there are other animals making noise. The best part is that Grizzle doesn't give up. Even though he's tired, cranky, and ready to fall over.

Final Verdict: Goodnight, Grizzle Grump! is a great bedtime read. Warm and funny illustrations and the use of repetition are sure to connect with readers.
