House of Night: Untamed
User reviews
I did love seeing Zoey and Aphrodite's relationship. I liked that it wasn't something you'd see in every other book. I also love their banter when they talk to each other, it's funny.
What I love most about these books is how the Native American influence they use. Now I'm not Cherokee (I'm Apache) but it's still nice to see some of the Native stuff. I enjoy it very much.
I do feel Zoey grew in this novel some and I liked that. She felt less self centered and a little less worried over dudes. Which, don't get me wrong, I won't read a novel unless there is some kind of romance but three dudes? That's a bit much to me.
I also love seeing Stevie Rae coming to terms with what she is now and trying to help the others. I really love her character, she's sweet as apple pie.
This novel ends with Kalona being released from the Earth and this one marks where stuff really starts to move. Can't wait to jump into the next one.
Another boy Stark is introduced and yup here comes a love triangle all over again. I like love triangles, but not like this. I really wish the Cast's would give it a break already. (trust me it gets bad in the next books) Otherwise, the love triangles, this book is great and I highly recommend for the House of Night fans.
The suspence in the book is great (especially at the end). The book is certianly not boring, it kept me wanting to read on and seeing what happens next! I wonder how the Cast's come up with all these ideas to keep the book looking good.
Right off the bat, this is my favorite book of The House of Night series. Yes, its only book 4, but it is fantastic. This book doesnt deal with Zoeys love life as much as the others have. Im all for the ooey-gooey bits, but this one does well without her having a boy (or man) in her life. It focuses on Zoey coming into her own and she is beginning to portray the high priestess that she really is.
A new character, Stark, is introduced, but his part is just too short in this book, so Im hoping there will be more to come of him in the future books. Neferet has truly gone evil and Aphrodite is, gasp, nice! I finally like Aphrodite and am happy to read about her snobby self without wanting to smack her. Zoeys Grandma comes to stay at The House of Night and it is easy to feel the love all of the fledglings feel towards this woman. The Casts did a wonderful job of weaving Cherokee stories into the book for both background purposes and featuring the tales up front and center.
The novel is a quick read because its just so hard to put it down. The book comes to a close in the midst of the action and you are left unaware of whats happened to some of the characters outside of the main group of friends. It is the biggest cliffhanger of the series thus far, leaving us waiting to find out how Zoey will save the world.
This book and series were amazing. I've read all the way from Marked to Tempted and never once was I bored. Untamed introduced one of my favourite characters, known as Stark. He is such a good character and adds to Zoeys boyfriend troubles. What's a good story without something relatable? Along with Stark, the same old characters (Erik, Heath, Damien, Jack, Zoey, Stevie Rae, Aphrodite, Shaunee, and Erin) were at it again. Fighting evil one step at a time. One of the better books in the series.
I really enjoyed the house of night series, I love all the characters and it was easy to get lost in the book and just read for hours and hours. Ihad just finished reading the twilight series( which is awesome) and this series is almost better, there's romance, action, magic and friendship.
This book has lots of different things going on at once! theres a new transfer that comes named stark. He is very good with a bow! he found out no matter where he is he can kill someone with his mind and a arrow. He killed his mentor and bestfriend by accident. and zoey by the way doesnt have any boyfriends now! eric found out about the teacher! and also it ends up that stark doesnt make the change either...But then weird things start to happen and zoey needs her grandmas help. Weird black raven looking things are hunting her! and her grandma has very usefull info and the ravens dont like that very much!
To me, this book was beyond boring. I have read all of them, and they were great. But this one was just bland. I found myself skimming pages. It was even putting me to sleep! I just, this one was the most horrible at of the series. It was just wierd, and stupid. To me, it made no scense. But if you liked it, then it's okay. To me, it sucked. Literally.
The title says all. This book is literally Untamed. I mean everything comes out in this book!! No secrets are kept away any longer in this extreamly cool book. I loved it and i would recommend it to everyone. This is definatly a book to read. I garuntee you will fall in love with this book like i did. Zoey Redbird kicks butt!!!! You feel like you are standing right next to her throughout the book and thats why i love this book so much.
Thank goodness this book was better than book 2, Chosen! It still
was not one of my favorites and I still wanted to stop at the beginning
and rant at Zoey for being so fickle when she starts to develop an
interest in the new student, Stark. At the end of Chosen it seems like
the action is finally going to start but Cast seems to be dragging the
story out. I loved that we continue to see Aphrodites character grow
and evolve as she tries to make up to Nyx, all the wrong she has done.
I actually feel that while Aphrodite is maturing, Zoey continues to
make the same mistakes over and over. I do feel bad for Zoey over the
treatment she receives from her friends and especially Erik. She did
behave totally skanky but now as her teacher, Erik had no right to take
his anger out on her in the classroom. Yet again, the action starts to
ramp up at the end of the book and will leave you hanging. I will give
Cast that, they sure know how to hook you into the next book.
One random note-I thought it was funny to see a mention of Melissa
Marrs book, Ink Exchange. It always seems read to be reading a story
that references other real life, modern day books. Ive read Marrs
Wicked Lovely and Fragile Eternity books but not Ink Exchange.
