I really loved this storyline.

The Story:
Chloe is going through a tough time with her family. After her parents divorce and her mom recovering from cancer, she's forced to move to a new town that might not be so new. The only bright spot is Cash. Their budding relationship is the thing that brings her happiness when everything else is falling apart.
But Cash may have motives other than just spending time with her. As the foster kid to two parents who lost their three year old to an abduction many years ago, he just wants answers for them. And Chloe might be the only person who is able to bring them the peace they seek.

What I loved:
Chloe is such a strong character. The amount of turmoil she goes through is astounding, and yet it doesn't break her. I could literally feel her pain as the truth was revealed. She's such an empathetic character, only worrying about how much the people around her will be affected. The way she loves her mom so fiercely even when her mom can't love herself is truly a testament to the bond between mothers and their children.
I enjoyed watching the relationship with Cash play out sweetly. He is so careful with her and even though he claims to care about no one, he obviously wants his foster parents to be happy. There's enough action in this book to keep a reader flipping pages long into the night.

What was just okay:
Sometimes it feels like the reader is being told what's happening instead of shown and it takes us out of the story a bit, making us feel like watchers instead of participants. The writing style was a bit simplistic, but that suited it well during the action-oriented scenes.

Final Verdict:
A nail-biter of a story that makes it impossible to put down.
