cute board book
I SAY OOH, YOU SAY LA LA is a cute board book about time spent together. The book contains a small poem with messages of dance, singing, and love. Each page spread includes a large and a small pink poodle interacting together, representing caregiver and child.
What I loved: This is a simple and short board book with plenty of color and word art on each page spread. The text is relatively brief with poetic feel and shows two dogs interacting together and having fun. The poof on top of the book adds something fun for little ones to touch and feel, and it is very nicely soft. Bright colors and cute illustrations add to the joy of reading throughout.
What left me wanting more: As a small thing, the text felt a bit awkward in places, and there was not really a cohesive story or obvious message. This probably won’t matter much to the intended audience, however, who will enjoy hearing the voice of their caregiver and viewing the colorful images!
Final verdict: Overall, I SAY OOH, YOU SAY LA LA is a cute board book that will work well for older infants and young toddlers.
