Deirdre (love the name) is your typical sixteen year old, typical musical genius that is. At a music competition she meets a mysterious and enchanting boy by the name of Luke. Gorgeous as an angel, Deirdre doesn't know why he's interested in her. But when in Rome...

So Luke and Deirdre hook up, - plain deirdre and lovely luke, the Edward and the Bella so to speak - but Luke has so many secrets. Secrets that could seriously ruin a relationship. And there's the whole problem of the creepy clover boy who keeps popping up everywhere. And why is it that Deirdre just discovered she has, some interesting abilities to say the least, just when Luke came into her life? And how does her grandmother know Luke, he's only a year older than her, right?

So of course Deirdre finds out Luke was sent to kill her buy the faerie queen, who made Luke her assassin after he rejected her - tough breakup, huh? But Deirdre is in too deep - in love that is - and so is Luke. And deceiving the queen is never a good idea, so both Deirdre and Luke find themselves paying the high price of love.

A page turner for sure, Lament was a very entertaining novel and i can't wait to read the sequel, Ballad coming out in the fall. It's a great series for all you faerie lovers, twilight lovers, and paranormal romance lovers. You won't be disappointed!

Title: The Faerie Queen's Deception Author: Maggie Stiefvater Publisher: Flux Number Of Pages: 325

Summary from back of book: Sixteen-year-old Deirdre Monaghan is a prodigiously gifted musician. She's about to find out she's also a cloverhand-one who can see faeries. Unexpectedly, Deirdre finds herself infatuated with a mysterious boy who enters her ordinary life, seemingly out of thin air. Trouble is, the enigmatic and gorgeous Luke turns out to be a gallowglass-a soulless faerie assassin-and his interest in her might be something darker than summer romance. A sinister faerie named Aodhan is also stalking Deirdre. They both carry the same assignment from the Faerie Queen, one that forces Dee right into the midst of Faerie. Caught in the crossfire with Deirdre is James, her wisecracking but loyal best friend. Deirdre had been wishing her summer weren't so dull, but taking on a centuries-old Faerie Queen isn't exactly what she had in mind.

Review: Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception is an incredible book! I loved the characters and everything about the book. I think that anyone who is interested in young adult novels will love this book.

I recommend this book to people who like romance, young adult novels, and faeries.
