I had never read a book in this format. A dead girl viewing her family and friends from Heaven. This book is really heart warming and sad. When Susie Salmon is murdered by a local neighboor, her family falls to pieces. Her mother leaves, and the rest of the family is left in shambles. Everyone is desperate to find the killer, will he be brought to justice?

This book is really good. It is about a girl who gets killed, and she sees everyone's reaction to her death. I crid a lot when I read this book. It made me want to go and hug someone close to me. I recommend this to anybody that loves a good cry.

This book in my opinion was pretty good over all. It had an interesting plot and great characters. Thought sometimes during the middle of the book it kind of got a little slow, over all I really enjoyed it. I think it was very interesting the way the Susie Salmon, the main character, told about heaven the way she say it through her eyes. I kind of got bored in the middle of the book, but I suggest this book to anyone!

Murdered by a man, Susie Salmon shares with us her memories of what happened before and during the murder. She also tells us what happened to her loved ones after her death and her opinion of what heaven is like. She talks about the values of loving families and friends. She wishes that she could be alive and with her family once again.
All they found of Susie after her murder was her saliva covered hat and a piece of her one elbow. They knew Susie was dead several days later when she never came home to them. Susies father begged over and over for them to continue the search. After a month of searching the family gave up all hope, except for her loving and caring father.
Susies father on the other hand was in total distress; he could not let go of the fact that his favourite daughter was dead. He would stop at nothing to find Susies murderer and kill him. Everyone thought that he had gone nuts, for thinking that the next door neighbour was her killer. The two of them had a very special bond.
Throughout the book Susie tells us about heaven and what happens to her while shes up there. She says that heaven is the way you want it to be. Each and every night, she says that a lady will play a violin and hundreds of dogs will come running. When people are done they go to bed, just like normal human beings. The one special thing about heaven is that you can look down and watch your family and friends for hours at a time.
I thought that this was a very interesting book. Some parts made me cry others made me feel angry. I would suggest this to older women or teenagers. I never thought that I would find a book that I was really truly fascinated with. I cried when I read about the devotion of her father to his dear daughter.
