Number the Stars by Lois Lowry is a magnificent book that will not only inspire Jewish people, but can inspire anybody around the world. This universal book tells the story of a girl who has to keep her best friend, who happens to be Jewish, hidden during the Holocaust. Copenhagen, Denmark is where this story takes place. During the Holocaust people of Denmark were captured if the German soldiers found out they were Jewish. Number the Stars tells the story of two best friends and how one of them is trying to get to freedom in Sweden.
