The adorable adventures of Oak, a little leaf girl who isn't sure she wants to leave her tree. As the weather grows cold, her parents say it's time to move to a warm, cozy mushroom on the forest floor. Oak isn't so sure, but as the seasons turn she learns that new things don't have to be scary, and maybe it isn't such a big change if her family is with her, no matter where they are.
With full illustrations and a lyrical story, every page is bursting with color and detail. Oak is like a little fairy, living up in a tree with her critter friends. This story also shows a very supportive family dynamic. Oak hasn't seen winter before, so she resists when her parents say it's time to go somewhere new, but even though she's stubborn, they patiently wait for her to experience a little bit of the cold which is why they need to leave, and they warmly support her when she realizes they were right after all.
This is a great cozy fall read, and a treat for lovers of faeries and all the little things in nature, real or magical.
