So at first when I got this book from Owlcrate, I wasn't sure if I wanted to read it. It sounded okay but then again I'm not that into contemporary reads. I had just read The Lovely Reckless though and wanted another super easy read. That's what I consider all contemporary reads, easy. There isn't much to world building to them and no new words we've never seen before. They they are the kind of books, I can just lose myself without struggle.
This one took me a little while to get into. Our main character Lily... she's really stuck in her own head. She's kind of selfish sometimes and maybe just a little to mean at times. So I didn't like her much till the end when she started to get better. She started to see the world as it was not through these mean colored glasses.
Cade on the other hand is actually a lot better than her and he's got problems too. That is something I will give this book, the characters are real. No one is too perfect. So the author did a great job. The writing is nice. The plot is pretty dang cute and simple, easy to follow. Overall, a fun read.
