Spoilers!!!
I loved the concept of this book - Luce having to travel back through time, via the Announcers, to re-visit her past lives in order to work out why she is cursed to die every time she falls in love with Daniel and how she can stop it, and all the while Daniel is chasing after her, desperate that she doesn't do something that will kill her or alter the future. The passion still doesn't hit the dizzying heights that I would like it to, but it certainly had me hooked from start to finish. There is a slight jar in the story-line (Daniel suddenly changes the way he looks and it threw me a little - don't know whether that is my fault for missing something in the writing or whether it's a fault of the story) so that is why this has four stars instead of five, but, it didn't take away from my enjoyment too much!

Step up from the first 2 books!
Good Points
We finally got to see the curse in action, the deaths of Luce and Daniel's reaction in each and every one of them. Kind of heartbreaking, knowing that the love of his life died because of him, even more torture knowing that he had to wait 17 years to get to see her again. Slowed at times, but other than that the series actually picked up.

A romance for (or should I say through) the ages!!!
In Passion, Lauren Kate takes us with Luce through a journey of all her past lives--death after death after death. Even though you'd think it would be just heartbreaking to see Daniel lose Luce over and over again, it was really more heartwarming. It reminds you of how their loves has to conquer death and evil and betrayal over and over again.
But this isn't just a journey for Luce, this journey also takes Daniel back to the darkest days of his past. We see how his character grows and changes and never gives up on love. I love Daniel for his perseverance (and it doesn't hurt that he's a hottie).
I do really wish that there would have been more spine-tingling romance. At times, it felt like it was the same thing chapter after chapter. (view spoiler) But, I still flew through the book in a day--so it couldn't have been that jaw-wrenching. I will admit, I did skip over whole paragraphs at times because Lauren Kate is entirely too detailed in some aspects of her writing.
Still, if you're a Fallen fan (or an angel fan or a hottie fan or even an evil fan), don't miss this book!

Yes, I've heard the bad reviews, but I quite liked the first two books, Fallen and Torment, and thought I'd enjoy this one as well. Sadly, it just didn't do it for me.
First of all, the whole story just kind of left me a little muddled and confused. It wasn't one of those stories where you're on the edge of your seat wondering what loop it's going to throw you through next. It was just a bit confusing and didn't seem fully thought out. Luce kept "realizing" things that I thought I already had figured out or I simply didn't understand at all even after she "explained" what she learned.
Luce. Luce, Luce, Luce. She drove me absolutely nuts! She was selfish and idiotic. She kept meddling with her past lives for her own benefit never once bothering to think she was intruding. She just HAD search through her past live's not willing to just accept Daniel's love. Every time she sees Daniel in a past life, though, she loses her head like a sex-starved teenage idiot. It's was beyond annoying.
The one thing I really like about Passion as compared to the other two was Daniel's POV. We got much more of it than the meager glimpses we've seen before. It was almost every other chapter this time. I liked to see what was happening from his end of things as opposed to everything being all about Luce.
Final thoughts: If you've read the other two in the series, then this one might be worth picking up since it's necessary if you plan on finishing the series. If you've never read the series, I definitely wouldn't recommend it simply because Passion doesn't have much going for it.

Anyway I barrowed a copy from my friend and I wanted to read Passion before I got my copy of Rapture. :)
Good Points
Luce travels through time to learn more about her past and Daniels. The descriptions of the various places and times Lucinda visits are vivid and very detailed! Ive always wanted to travel the world and this book was sort of like that!
I really liked how the pov switched between Luce and Daniel; very nice!

Overall it is a must read if you've read the first and second books, if your into the dark romance genre like the Shiver series...this is sooooo the series for you!
Good Points
I absolutely loved passion. Its kind of different to the way the first and second book were written because in each chapter, Luce travels to a different era in time. I found this incredibly exciting and it was quite interesting to see Luce+Daniels past lives together. This third book in the Fallen series by Lauren Kate was amazing!!! Luce is on a mission of the heart and she is looking into most of her past lives, with an unsuspected helper, Bill. He is what the Angels and Demons call a Scale and he is helping Luce with her mission.
I usually stay away from books that take place in the past, I don't like the past aspect. Its filled with words I don't understand and unfamiliar places. Instead of shying away from this book like I usually would, I embraced it. I absolutely loved it!!
Sure, it was all over the place as Luce and Daniel traveled. Then there was the figuring out the personalities of the other Lucinda's, but it was a really good book!
You see Luce evolve over her travels, shes still the stubborn Luce but with more consequence. She changes as she goes through the past, seeing herself die and die again. Then watching Daniels reactions of her deaths are heart-wrenching. Luce keeps traveling through the Announcers, growing and growing, till she goes 3D and then that's a surprise... But I'm gonna stop there till I give away more
There's Daniel, who is following Luce through the past and being a bit on the reckless side. He knows the consequences but those don't matter too much to him. He just wants her back in his arms, safe and sound. You see him remembering his past lives and feeling the pain all over again. He grows stronger though, and is remembering the places and things he forgot.
All in all the book was good! The way it was written was the right way to write a book like that. I give it 40 out of 51 tacos all in all!! Great job Lauren Kate!! Look out for the next book in the Fallen series Rapture coming soon!! Now off to read 5 books in the next 4 days before my flight to New York!!

I fell in love with this series right off the bat. Lauren Kate is a fantastic writer and she mixes in the action and romance very well. The characters are well written; Luce is perfectly lovable and Daniel...well Daniel is unforgettable.
Passion starts to answer many questions that have been nagging the back, or front, of your mind during the first two books. There were things happening that Lauren Kate did not fully explain so it left you wondering...'Huh?" Well now you have answers and the story is coming together.
Luce is coming into her own during this book. She is on her own trying to find answers to her many questions where it comes to Daniel. He is less than forthcoming so she takes it upon herself to get to the bottom of things. She recklessly jumps around, in true Luce fashion, and you cannot help but grab her coattails and hang on for deal life.
Passion is a great love story that defies time as we know it. Daniel has truly loved Luce for ages and we finally begin to see the level of his commitment to her. It took my breath away, and yes, there were even a few girl-tears shed. But who does not adore a true love story well written?

Luce is the kind of girl you want on your team; she is brave without thinking about it. Daniel is beautiful and we finally get to see a little more about why he is the way he is with Luce.

Well, I flew through Passion, finishing in less than a day. I didn't want to put it down, and I needed to know what would come next.
Passion wasn't really what I expected... while in theory we got to see some of their romances and where the love is coming from in their past encounters, I really wanted at least one start to finish meeting and falling in love.
What I got instead was interesting, and it really helps to see where Daniel's immense love comes from, and get to know him and where he's been. What Luce got from it was more of a sense of who she is, and she has to learn and convince herself that their love is from something real, not just fate or simple attraction.
This is a good addition to the series, and I know that I'll pick up the last and hope that all the threads are tied up and something happens with a bang.
