When a group of friends go on an adventure, they find their peaceful world disrupted by all the bad things of the world. Peace on Earth is a beautiful concept, but sometimes it can be hard to find, especially when someone has unkind words to say. Those words can cause inner rage to burn like a fire and make peace even more difficult to find. But hearts are brave and help pave the way through kindness and joy to make room for inner peace.
I have so many words about the illustrations because they are so beautifully designed and detailed, they pop with color, and they grab your attention immediately, extending from one page to the next. I would give just the pictures a 10/5 because the illustrator went above and beyond. The author also delivers a powerful message that teaches children peace will go where others won’t and peace can hear what others don’t, meaning it can change an angry word into something else. While peace isn’t the easiest to find at despairing times, it’s worth the journey to discover it.
Final Verdict: I would recommend this to children aged four and up, especially to those who may be dealing with unkind words. Because in all honesty, children can be mean, and this book teaches the importance of kindness and discovering all of the good inner peace offers. It’s a powerful message with stunning pictures to help children understand the whole picture.
