This book, Ready or Not, disturbed me greatly. I am a mother who bought the book for my 13 year old daughter, thinking, when I saw "All American Girl" as the subtitle, that this book was about a truly All American Girl. I thought The Princess Diaries movie was kinda cute, so I thought the book Ready or Not would be, too. I did not realize, foolishly indeed, that today's "All American Girl" is no longer necesarilly the healthy, vibrant, young athelete or promising young girl I expected.

The book shallowly deals with a young girl's internal struggle about whether or not to have sex with her boyfriend. The boyfriend is more or less a gentleman and is not pushing it. The protagonist is forcing the issue on herself. I foolishly assumed she would wisely decide against it.

The book is quite shallow in its portrayal of the outcome of having sex with your boyfriend. It makes light of it--never describing the incredibly painful consequences of a loss of innocence before marriage. It does young girls and boys a great disservice.

This book has no redeeming qualities. It is now in my trashcan with coffee grounds over it. The book Ready or Not is the equivalent of junk food, but far more dangerous.

Another great conclusion to a great series (although this was just the successor of All American Girl, so it wasn't really a series...).
The main charactor, Samantha finds herself in soup when everybody thinks she is ready to do several things while she is herself not so sure.
Of the most intimidating things is whether or not to Do It with her byfriend David, who happens to be the President's son.
I really enjoyed the Top 10 lists (just like in it's predecessor).
A fabulous read if you have an afternoon to spare!

This is the sequel to the first book All-American Girl. Samantha Madison finds herself making a life changing decision and finding out the life drawing does indeed mean, naked people. Her boyfriend David invites her to spend the weekend at Camp David to play "parcheezy" and all that other vacation fun. Samantha is afraid she's not ready to make the "next step". She also makes a live appearance on MTV and fights with the president. What about? FIND OUT!

This book was great. I do think that lovers of the first one will truely enjoy it. Although, it is not as good as the first, but few books are. Really enjoyed it!

I give this book a 4 out of 5. It wasn't quite as good as the first. And, for a book aimed toward teenagers, I don't like the ending. The emphisis on sex and guy's "You-Know-Whats" was a little much, not to mention it kindof seemed like Meg Cabot was erging sex for teens at some points.
But, I will give it this: It was an interesting book and a good read. It also did provide some laughs and some good advice for teens (exceot the whole 'go ahead and have sex thing').

I would recommend it to girls ages 15+.

Well, needless to say I loved this book. Just like all of Meg Cabot's other books, this will surely be a success.
This was a great sequal to the first book titled "All American Girl" (read that first if you haven't yet).
If you love Meg's other works you'll surely love this one too.

In this funny sequal Samantha Madison continues to date the president's son, David. He invites her to go away for Thanksgiving weekend with the family and Sam tries to decide if she's 'Ready or Not' to go all the way with him.

In this, the sequel to All American Girl, Sam and David have been dating for about a year, and suddenly, Sam has to decide how she feels about sex. When David invites her to Camp David for Thanksgiving..to play Parcheesi...Sam comes to the conclusion that he wants to do IT.
This book is absolutely hilarious. In one part, Sam's older sister Lucy explains why she takes forever in the bathroom....so I wouldn't recommend this novel for guys....but I'm positive that a ton of girls will love it.
The only thing I didn't like wasthat it sort of resembled Princess In Training, and it was short...but other than that, it rocked!
