This book is everything you don't expect it to be. Funny. Heart-warming. Educational. All wrapped up on one entertaining package.
The story:
We all know the infamous Robin, sidekick to Batman. But do we really know him? This book could essentially be titled Robin's lessons on life. He takes us through every aspect of life and tells us what to do to make it the best and how to appreciate it. He does it under the guise of humor, saying these are many of the things he had to teach Batman.
What I loved:
Just about everything. If you have a kid who is at least six years old, they'll most likely find something to enjoy here. It's written in such a funny way and you can't help but love the kid and his sometimes dysfunctional family that he loves so much. My favorite line was "Your superpower is your family". It's the kind of book that every parent would feel good about their kid reading. It takes the sometimes overly violent superhero genre and turns it into something wholesome and good.
What was just okay:
There really wasn't anything. I was hoping it would be the right age range for my three-year-old niece so I guess my only complaint was with her not being old enough and that had nothing to do with the book. I'll have to keep it for her.
Final Verdict:
If you have a superhero fan at home, or even if they are into something different, get your hands on a copy of this book. As a parent, you won't regret it.
