Valeries life is going pretty well, until her mother announces that shes leaving her dad for&another woman. Too embarrassed to tell her friends and spazzing out in general, Valerie is soon hit with another problem. Her dad, a protocol guru, has been offered another job&in another country.

Valerie can either move in with her newly short-haired mom and girlfriend or move to Schwerinborg, an obscure foreign country with, quite possibly, no McDonalds or shopping and definitely none of her friends. Schwerinborg also doesnt have David Anderson, the guy she has been crushing on for years. The guy who has finally seemed to notice she exists.

David or no, Valerie goes with her dad and finds herself in a strange country, a strange castle, and suddenly, the friend of the crown prince. Whats a girl to do? Well, what any girl would do&she promptly falls for the prince. Who wouldnt?

Thats not to say there arent any obstacles (after all, her dads boss is the king, for heavens sake) and that Valerie doesnt go through a lot of doubting moments. But, this is primarily a fun book and the reader has to quickly turn the pages to find out what happens next. Is going to a royal ball all its cracked up to be? Are teenagers just as rude in foreign countries? How do you deal with paparazzi?

I recommend this book primarily for girls aged 12 and up.
