Okay, admit it. Youve always secretly dreamed about what it would be like to have a famous actor/musician/whatever as your parent, right? Thats at least up there with the dream of actually being such a star yourself. Well, Bliss, daughter of the famous actress of the moment (Angel), would like to tell you that being a celebrity spawn isnt nearly as great as you might think it is.

For one thing, her grandma is NOT the cookie-baking-white-hair-in-a-bun kind of grandma. No, shes the botox queen of skimpy clothing with a brand-new boy-toy on her arm that shes threatening to marry. And then theres Moyra, the parent/teen consultant that Angel has hired for Bliss because Bliss keeps getting into trouble.

Is it her fault that a big party just happens to coincide with the shaving off of one eyebrow in honor of J.K.s (one of her best friends) battle with leukemia? Or that she accidentally wallops someone trying to push her into the spotlight at an award ceremony? After all, Bliss didnt ask to be a celebrity spawn. Shes got no choice in the matter.

Bliss battle with Moyra and her schemes to try and gain more freedom while trying to get more attention from her mother will keep readers turning pages. While you may not feel sorry for Bliss (sorry, sweetie, you live in a mansion and your mom does love you), youll appreciate her. The addition of her friends Coco and J.K. (the leukemia sufferer) add some depth as well.

Recommended for readers aged 10 and up. While theres talk of botox and tinseltown, theres no inappropriate sex talk (Bliss, after all, is just about to turn 13).
