Review Detail
3.3 3Lately horror YAs  have fascinated me. The whole idea that evil is right under the surface, seems so real and scary. And when I heard of SLEEPLESS by Thomas Fahy, I knew I had to read it. I wasnt disappointed.
Emma Montgomery has been having terrifying nightmares. She fears falling asleep. Even worse, she finds herself in a different place in the morning. But shes not the only one. Others at Saint Opportuna High are also sleepwalking and having nightmares. Then a classmate is found dead.Â
Something is making them kill but whom? Emma and her friends band together to try to stay awake and not be responsible for any more deaths. Seems something else bands them together. A dark secret that happened back in New Orleans. A secret that might be coming back to haunt them. Or even worse, kill them. Its up to them to find out who is behind the gruesome deaths before they are next.
This fast-paced tale kept me glued to the pages. The whole idea of someones nightmares actually coming true is terrifying. But even worse what happens if you are responsible for killing someone when you are sleepwalking? Fahy creates a world where evil might lay deep inside, just waiting to be released.  Emma and her friends arent the usual clichés found in teen slasher movies. No, the cheerleader has a hidden side. As does the pot-head, whos not just a stoner. Even the revelation at the end surprised me.
Recommended for those who love THE DEVOURING and other horror tales. This one wont disappoint. Just make sure to not read late at night. Or at least have a light on.
