I'm a 15 year old girl and received this book as a gift for my birthday. At first the book did not really appeal to me, that was until i started to read it. Being a teenager who is at the age where i am soon to experience young love, this really was a fabulous book to read.
The way Stargirl changes to Susan for Leo - the boy she has fallen for - is so heart moving but at the same time makes you realise that someone should love you for you - you shouldn't have to change. The author, Jerry Spinneli, really made this novel worth reading by giving Stargirl and extraordinary, but amazing, personality. She's not like the normal high school student, she's different and maybe this is why Leo fell for her.
He doesn't realise this until she changes back from Susan to Stargirl, and she leaves to never return.
I feel that this is to show that the motto, 'You don't know what you've got until it's gone', is true in some cases.

Overall, this story is one that i will always remember and, at the moment, is definitley one of my favourites. I know that alot of 15 year olds are not into reading these days and i admit that i used to be the same. Not anymore! Especially not after reading this.
Thank you.

Stargirl is definitely one of my favorite books. I found the way Stargirl changed her whole lifestyle and appearence for Leo amazing. I was stunned at how far she would bend to please the boy she loved. I especially loved the beginning with the porkupine ties. I begged my sister to let me read her copy of the book (we have to read it this year in school, so she wanted me to wait), and I devoured the book within less than a day. The story was sweet, but sad. Stargirl was just the kind of character I needed in a book. Some one who wasn't afraid to be herself, who put others first. This book was a wonderful, touching story for teens and adults.

There is a boy who had to move with his family to a new city and he loved a tie he had recieved. Upon arrival to the new house he recieved another not knowing who from. Later on at school he meest a girl who calls herself stargirl. she is different than everyone else and doesnt care so she is an outcast. The story shows her troubles through his eyes.

This is a ver good book with turns you wouldn't expect

I really have mixed feelings about this book. It had a great message, but wasn;t very well written.
Stargirl is the new kid. She is the weird, I-don't-fit-in-but-I-don't-care kind of new kid though. At first she is loved, then she is hated, and finally she ups and leaves town, leaving people to ponder her fate, and her sort of boyfriend to worry.

Stargirl, writtin by Jerry Spinelli, is a great book about the life of a boy who falls in love with this unusual girl who teaches him how to appreciate life wihtout the others needing to be in it.

I had to read this book for school and it turned out I was stuck to the pages, it was so good. I'm sure if I had to read it again I would still like it cuz it's my kind of book.

All the teens who think they're not normal, read this book and u'll think the contrairy of yourself after.

This book is about this guy, who meets the new girl at school. She is way weird and wacky, she plays the ukelele, and wears pioneer dresses. They become boyfriend and girlfriend and really like eachother.... Untill he tries to change Stargirl, that's when everything changes. I like this brecause Stargirl is so nice and she never ever ever thinks about herself. She is so kind, and giving, That's what I like in a book character. I reccomend this book to everyone.

This book was interesting, made me think harder than i was, and made me curious and ask questions. my favorite character was "Stargirl". i liked how abnormal she was and how she changed her name all the time to fun, random things that were pretty and nice and i liked them. she was like a strange site you wanted to keep following and learn about and figure out and you wouldn't stop till you did. that's what Stargirl was like. she was the whole fun of the book!!!

Stargirl

I enjoyed the novel "Stargirl" as it showed how people with differences stand out from the crowd. She wouldnt rebell at school work, i wouldnt even call it rebelling. just seeing different sides of things, and taking part in unusual things, she feels unhappy trying to fit in with everybody eles.
Ienjoyed this novel as Stargirl done everything to help anybody else and ended up with no time for herself.
"Look at you. Its satuarday. I've been with you all day, and you've spent the whole day doing stuff for other people"
i find this amazing that someone is willing to give up their weekend to help others.Although sometimes when she tryes to help others she ends up hurting her own side:
" Electrons were not soon to become Arizona state basketball champions, Kevin had been right: when she had started cheering for the other team, she did something bad for her own team."
Perhaps she done this because so many people disliked her and she wanted to hurt them? who knows?
I realy enjoyed this gripping novel. i could not put it down.

This book is not your typical romantic comedy. It is extremely off-beat. The premise is entirely original, and meaningful.

I suggest you read the book so I don't give anything away. Just beware of the ending.
