This dual-language version of the classic STRIPES OF ALL TYPES is a great addition to libraries and a fun read for bilingual families.
The bright, colorful illustrations are very appealing, and not so complex that they draw attention away from the words on the page. The book features a wide variety of animals, from common everyday rodents to exotic big cats and antelope from other countries.
The blocky, bold text is easy for young readers to parse. The Spanish text is given just as much importance as the English text; the font is the same size, while a different color so they are easily distinguished. The translation is accurate and intuitive; it's very natural-sounding to a native speaker.
Additional information about each featured animal is included in the back of the book; this information is in both Spanish and English. Because that information is very detailed, the book could even be used in an elementary or middle school level Spanish classroom.
While younger readers might not be able to decipher the detailed information in this section, it is perfect for reading aloud at a storytime or to interested listeners.
