Purses (or handbags or bags or whatever you want to call them) are second only to shoes as being items that most girls seem to covet. In Stuff to Hold Your Stuff, from PlanetGirl, you can find out how to make your own really cool, all-you, totally funky bags.

With 16 different projects from fun furry pencil cases to beach totes made from a beach towel (double duty!), theres a project for everyone. The skill levels vary, as does the equipment needed (for the duct tape wallet, for instance, youll need only scissors). Even the most complex projects require very little sewing and can be done by hand.

I like the kitschy illustrations and the fact that an actual photo of the finished project is given. Many how to books for kids dont include that last thing, leaving it to the crafter to guess whether or not they actually succeeded at their project. I mean, lets face it, a cartoon-y illustration never looks exactly like the real thing! Its great that this book gives you both.

Girls of all ages with a crafty side will enjoy this book. It is appropriate for ages 8 and up (and potentially even younger, with help from an adult) and I can easily see it being enjoyed by those 18 and beyond. Im personally dying to try out the purse made from old ties. Too too cute!
