Much like it's companion story, Winter: A Solstice Story, is a charming story of friendship among the woodland creatures.
The cute animal characters gift each other wishes as they celebrate the longest day of the year. I found the words a little clunky in places causing me to stumble over words when reading aloud.
We read this story when learning about the Summer Solstice this year, pairing it with our hands-on activities and lessons.
The illustrations are once again charming, done in an earth-tone palette, keeping a softness to them.
Summer would make a great bedtime story, or even a mid-day read cuddling together before nap time.
