I'm a huge fan of YA anthologies. The collection of short stories in SUMMER DAYS AND SUMMER NIGHTS are hilarious, engaging, haunting, and bittersweet. So there is something for everyone!
What worked: Short stories are perfect for those readers on the go and those who feel they might not have time to invest in a novel.
Some of my favorites are:
LAST STAND AT THE CINEGOR by Libba Bray is a hilarious tale set in a horror theater on it's last day of production and how a cursed film does it's own magic.
IN NINETY MINUTES, TURN NORTH by Stephanie Perkins shows how well-meaning intentions have a way of surprising you.
INERTIA by Veronica Roth shows a futuristic way of a dying person 'sharing' moments with loved ones.
SICK PLEASURES by Francesca Lia Block is a haunting tale of what might have been.
SOUVENIRS by Tim Federle is a bittersweet tale of summer love.
BRAND NEW ATTRACTION by Cassandra Clare brings a twist to new magic in a dark carnival.
There's also stories by Nina Lacour, Leigh Bardugo, and Jon Skovron. Each one shows different summer loves with equally engaging results.
This is a great collection of tales that brings back memories of hot days and summer love.
