Mo Willems is a huge hit with preschoolers and younger elementary students, and he definitely doesn’t disappoint with ‘The Duckling Gets a Cookie?!’ In the book, Duckling asks for and gets a cookie, which soon causes a huge hullabaloo when Pigeon finds out. Pigeon is outraged because he claims that he never gets what he wants (most likely because the majority of his requests are outlandish or ridiculous) while Duckling gets everything he wants.

It’s a lot of fun to read the book to kids with exaggerated silly voices for Pigeon and Duckling, and kids really like it when you read it during a story time where you read the other books about Pigeon. Whenever I read this one, Duckling usually ends up being the favorite character. It’s a short and funny book, and sure to engage a crowd of little munchkins who ask for a loads of silly things themselves!
