I have wanted to read this book since I first laid eyes on the cover in 2013. It's gorgeous and the premise of the book was so interesting that I wanted to go out and buy it immediately. For some unknown reason i never did buy it but this week when I was looking for something to read on Oyster there it was in unlimited. I squealed, yes I actually squealed with delight and downloaded it right away.

Yangsze Choo writes in such a hauntingly beautiful manner. I found myself rereading paragraphs quite often, not because she was difficult to understand but rather because I wanted to visualize the intricate story Choo was weaving.

The Ghost Bride concept was such an interesting one, entirely new to me. I've always been very interested in other cultures and this story made me intrigued to learn more of the Chinese traditions.

I am glad that after all this time I got to read it and it was definitely worth the wait.
