The Immortals: Evermore (Book 1)

I love this series,it's definitely one I can't put down.I love have Ever and Damen literally fight for their true love and happiness throughout this series.Sometimes you just gasp in awe at what happens during this series

The characters were really awesome and believeable.
Haven had her quirky switchings.
Miles had his freak-outs.
Ever had her hoodies and IPod.
Damen had his mystery.
Stacia had her evilness.
Honor had her following.
Every character had their own thing(Even the ones who were more folowers) and Alyson Noel made you fall in love with every single one.

I loved the plot because it reminded me of the Twilight series but not enough to say she stole the idea from Stephanie Meyer. The theme of living forever and wanting to love someone for just as long has been done so many times but Alyson Noel made it her-made it her characters' own.

Her writing style was amazing. As a begining writer when I read this, I hated how everything was written in past tense and thought that was how it had to be done, but Alyson Noel proved that wrong with her perfect present tense writing.

I don't see anything wrong with this book.

I don't think that alyson copied stephenie meyers. In fact, her books are based on greif for losing people. Damen isn't based on edward either, he's based on her husband, the perfect renaissance manAnd she had her books out around the same time, meaning she didn't copy.  so, mrs. edward cullen, Alyson could not have copied Stephenie Meyer.

Evermore is a great book to read.  I definately recommend it. Although there were times when I didn't understand some things. For example, why did Damen have to model if he was looking for his soul-mate? He could steal what he needs. Come on, he's the undead what could happen? Anyway, Evermore shows that although there are times when people lose all hope there are people (Damen) who care. And are always by your side even if you don't know it yourself.

i read evermore i think its a great book but as soon as i saw it i thought of twilght ever as bella,damen as edward,drina as victoria and sabine as charlie the books are to similar damen can read evers mind edward can just read minds and cant read bellas same with ever and damens very fast and theres a read tulip guess what its on the cover of new moon and also to add aylsons naming her next book blue moon come on doesnt new moon sound similar and there pretty similar books . alyson copyed stephenie stepenie should get the credit i bet alyson has read her books ya there good but dont go off copying someone.

evermore is a very addictive book about a girl named ever.  Ever is physic ever since her near death car accident that killed her parents and her sister.  She soon meets a new student named damen and she is instantly attracted to him.  She tries to resist damen while trying to stay connected to her two friends at her new school.  This task seems almost impossible when a new girl arrives on the scene and damen knows her.  follow ever on her quest to figure out who she really is and to control her power.

After the accident that took her parents' and sister's lives, 16-year-old Ever can see people's auras and read their thoughts. She even has conversations with the annoying ghost of her little sister, Riley. The stimulus she receives from the outside world is overpowering, and so she constantly tries to shut it out by wearing large hoodies and toting an iPod with earphones in everywhere.

Until the new student, Damen Auguste, comes into her life. He's dark, beautiful, talented, and perfect--and Ever is terrified of him, even when she's mysteriously drawn to him as his presence and touch somehow manages to calm the psychic chaos in her head. However, there may be more to Damen than he's admitting, and it involves Ever as well--involves her to the point where it may cost her her life if she doesn't come to turns with who she is and what she can do.

I've tried reading Alyson Noel's other books before, and I didn't get very far into them. Now I remember why. Ever's character is about the only redeeming thing I can find in this book. Her character grows and changes in the course of the novel, from a sullen and frightened trauma victim to a teen beginning to "come into herself," so to speak. I found the other characters flat and annoying. Ever's friends Miles and Haven didn't seem real, and I was especially annoyed that there seemed to be no developmentto Damen and Ever's romance; it was like one moment they've just met and she's avoiding him, and the next--BOOM!--he's stalking her with red tulips and she's grudgingly admitting to herself that she likes him. Please. Additionally, while the story idea is intriguing, the writing lacks immediacy and there are lots of moments when I wanted to throw the book across the room because I did not understand why insert-your-choice-of-plot-device was thrown in so suddenly and randomly.

Still, it's not hard to see why the Immortals series will have a large fan base. Damen--or at least the idea of him--gives Edward Cullen a run for his money. Fans of Stephenie Meyer may do well to check out Alyson Noel's latest book.

Ever is considered a freak by many classmates because of her love of hoodies, loud music, and the two odd friends she surrounds herself with. Her classmates think shes a freak for the wrong reasons though. Since the accident that claimed everyone in her family of four besides her, she has been burdened with uncontrollable psychic abilities. Not only is she forced to hear peoples thoughts and deepest hopes and fears, she is visited daily by her dead sister. Talk about not being able to move on. She is constantly under a barrage of exhausting energies, until the new kid silences the unwelcome noise. His voice quiets the noise. His touch warms her soul. Nevertheless, Evers unable to become completely happy because her new gorgeous boyfriend frequently disappears and acts strange. Finally when a friends life is threatened, she knows its time to demand answers. But what if the answers and truth are unbelievable?

Evermore wasnt mind-blowing, but its slight suspense, eerie mystery, and strange magic were interestingly entertaining.

The romance between Damen and Ever was very flimsy. Ever was selfless, yet racked with guilt. She also held onto her morals even when it was very tempting to forget them. Damen could be easily conceived as a jerk. Yes he had amazingly good looks and was nearly perfect in all that he did, but beyond that he didnt have any appeal or personality. At times, he was just creepy. He was all over Ever and made her doubt herself. Not only did Damen cheapen the I love you from Ever when he kept dogging her to say it and truly mean it, he lost almost all of my regard for him. Ever held onto her morals and demanded the truth even when it would have been much easier to just give in. I found Ever to be a character I could really respect.

Im glad the author included Evers psychic abilities. Without them the story would have lost most of the chaotic and confusing mess of emotions that really moved the plot along with its twists and turns. If her ghost sister or her ability to read minds wasnt in the book, Evermore would have been utterly boring.

Many of the scenes between Damen and Ever were only quickly recapped in passing. I believe most of Damens likeability issues are caused by just the pure lack of intimate thoughts or moments shared. Damen rarely shared a genuine vulnerable moment with Ever, creating no insight into Damens emotions or motives.

Evermore was clearly a first book in the series because many profound outlooks were hardly explored. Im curious to find out how Ever is going to deal with her new life and I also hope to see more illustration of Damens supposed compassion in the second book, Blue Moon.
