Review Detail

I loved the importance of the illustrations in this book. Each page cleverly included origami in some way. The story is guided by the use of origami as the pirate girl searches for her grandfather's buried treasure. She has to climb a mountain, go through a cave, and sail in a boat that gets attacked by a shark before she finally finds the treasure. These are just a few steps in the little girl's journey.

The end of the book features a tutorial on how you can create your own origami pirate shirt. This would be a fun activity to try at home or in an art class at school.
