This book was just my speed. It was a historical fiction piece and it had some good writing. I really thought I was reading Kaulani's journal for a minute. You should check it out a lot of people will like this. Heck I read it 4 times.

Kaiulani is a Hawaiian princess in the late 1800's. She is exiled to England to study at a private school for girls. While she is there the current king of Hawaii dies. From then on her aunt is pronounced queen and she is her succesor.

After that she gets a private tutor. Some time later she gets news that the monarchy is overthrown and the reformers (the USA people) have taken over Hawaii. She has to stay to England.
