I reckon this book was way too long than what it should of been. Michael Scott has obviously stretched the book so the story was told over way to many pages. The details were dragged out to much, boring me a lot more than it should have. I feel that this would of made it easier to read, as the younger kids would not of been as daunted as much and the older kids would think that it would be worth to read it as it would be a nice length and enjoyable.

I think that the style of writing was a bit strange, as instead of focusing on one character per chapter, it focused on all of them at once. Like when Sophie was thinking about how Nicholas looked like and how he was aging, it would suddenly switch to Nicholas thinking about the past or something. I think that the author should of focused on the one character on each chapter so it would not confuse the readers.

I reckon that this book had an excellent plot, and it is only getting better and better since the Alchemyst, and it gets even more deeper. With more mysteries and characters, including Niccolo Machiavelli, who was an immortal human on the Dark Elder side. But I think that the author should of gone a bit deeper with everyone's thoughts, as it was only looking at the surface.

I think that this book was an excellent idea, and it builds an amazing story of the basis of gods and goddess, both known and unknown, worshipped and created. This book is recommended by me to everyone between the ages 8-14, who will give up their time to read this amazing book.
