A cute and bittersweet story of young love at the wrong time.

The story:
Kendall has just returned from a semester abroad. It was the experience of a lifetime and going back to her real life seems like moving backward. Until she witnesses a tragic accident. Along with a boy from her past, she sees something no one should have to witness and it changes them. They didn't act then, but they never want to stand back and just watch ever again. So, when a waitress challenges them to perform random acts of kindness, they jump on it. Together they help people they never would have talked to and each time, it impacts them on a deep level, bringing them closer together.

What I loved:
After each act of kindness, we got a chapter from the view of the person they helped, showing us that we never know what simple acts can mean to someone. There are deep themes threaded throughout this book that make you think. It's a truly fantastic book premise and the acts of kindness were written incredibly well.

What was just okay:
There wasn't a ton of chemistry between Kendall and Max. There were also random storylines thrown in seemingly because that's what teens talk about. The random things took precedence over the important ones sometimes and we were left with a lot of loose ends at the end, almost as if it needed an epilogue.

Final Verdict:
A sweet story about the impact one person can have on another with an enormous amount of depth.
