Touching Spirit Bear follows a juvinille delinquent who severly beat a kid from school. Instead of ending up in jail he goes through another form of punishment called Circle Justice. Circle Justice decides his punishment should be a year of solitary confinment on a deserted island. When he gets there he is very angry. Since he is so angry he begins to torment a bear and then is viciously attacked. The story follows he struggle to stay alive and his realization that he needs to change his life.
This is an excelent coming of age story. Everyone should read this great book
