In Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" 17 year old Bella is moved from her sunny home to her dad's place in the rainy town of Forks. There seems to be nothing there for her at first but then things seem to brighten up when she spots a handsome senior in the cafe with his family--all of them looking distant and yet complete beautiful. Not to mention the fact that they are also a completely dangerous vampires.
This was the most interesting YA book I have read so far. There was no pouncing by the middle of the book ('cept on Bella's part with kisses) but the romance for both Bella and her Edward becomes this secret hushed thing that can lead to the end of her life in any moment. It's a vamp story that is essentially belivable. It's entangling and I cannot wait for the sequel.
Excellent read.
