This book was amazing, my favorite of the series so far. We go into detail of well pretty much of everything. It was very well written out. It has humor, dark, vampires, excitement, battles, and romance. The ending though shocked me, I was so sad I almost wanted to cry. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

omg, what just happened, i can't believe what just happened in this book. i was so shocked, but yes rose and dimitra got together but why, why did the book have to end like that. i totally can't wait for the new book, i hope she is making a new book. Lisa is going to do wonderful things for the vampires. Adrian sounds so cutie some the way he was describes in the second book and the third, you got to love bad boys...lol

There are so many great things about this book, like plenty of time with Dimitri. Rose is dealing with the tragedies that happened in Spokane with her good friend Mason. In the first chapter Rose starts seeing ghosts, Masons ghost. Throughout the whole book she tries to figure out why she sees him, while trying to rule out that she's crazy. While field practice is going on at school Rose is upset to not to be matched up with best friend Lissa, but to matched up to Lissa's boyfriend, Christian, whom Rose doesn't always get along with. Christian is a funny and nice character who Rose finds she likes a little more than someone she has to deal with. Adrian continues his quest to get to Rose who she keeps turning away. Dimitri starts showing more of his true feelings of Rose and heats things up a bit. The ghost visions start getting to rose espescialy when she's on the plane to go to Lissa's kidnappers trial. Afraid people will think she's crazy she hides it. When the truth comes out Dimitri devotes himself to her and helping find out whats going on. Then things start taking a toll on Rose when she starts snapping about the tiniest of things, she finds out that she is catching Lissa's madness (a side effect of spirit). Rose finally snaps and Dimitri saves her from herself. Strigoi attack the school and Rose goes into her kick-butt mode and helps save the school. Until they go on a rescue mission to save the ones who were taking away during the attack do things turn disastrous and she loses the one she loves the most. The ending is a tear jerker that will leave with questions of Rose's next adventure. Â Â

Tear jerking ending. It took me by surprise I literally cried! Rose, the man character, is going crazy, shes seeing dead people, like her friend who died. She has a secret affair with her teacher (whos incredibly hot!) and has to pick between him and her best friend. oh and on top of that, evil vampires are invading her school.straongly recommand this book & author. 2 THUMBS WAY, WAY UP!

I'm starting to feel like a 12 year-old girl getting all giddy about a new crush. I am completely in love with this series.
The book starts out in a steamy love scene which quickly turns all wrong when Rose realizes she is in Lissa's head while she is making out with Christian- yuck! Poor Rose, she already has enough boy problems with Dimitri being off limits and her still mourning over Mason's death. For once I can honestly say I was temporarily NOT jealous of Rose Hathaway.
A spider web of problems continues to tangle up, but all the while I never felt confused. Adrian is still fighting a losing battle for Rose, the girls are trying -and succeed- in getting to Victor Dashkov's trial. While they are there the girls see Mia, who disappeared after Mason's death and learn she is living and going to school at the Royal Court. Now, Mia used to be a backstabbing jerk, but after running away last year and learning some perspective, Mia has definitely changed for the better. I love reading about how happy she finally seems to be after having so much internal anger for so long, and seeing how much she has matures.
Mead does an amazing job of showing growth, maturation and change within all of the characters. I kept catching myself changing my opinions constantly about characters. Christian has shaped into a dedicated Moroi who is willing to put it all in the line to save the Moroi race (even though everyone thinks he will turn Strogoi like his parents.) Lissa finally finds true happiness and learns how to accept and use her role as the last Dragomir. Rose is as sassy as ever but with a mature edge to it. Instead of arguing for the sake of arguing and rebelling because she can, Rose uses her aggressive energy to kill Strogoi (SCARY!), have a deeper connection than ever with Dimitri, and even start to make things right between her and her astranger mother.
I have never been a very big fan of action and war movies, or even books for that matter, but the battles against the Strogoi leave me at the edge of my seat and craving more. I think the addiction stems from the drama created from the battles. Rose is constantly worrying about Lissa and Dimitri which makes me want to keep reading to make sure they are safe!
In an attempt to keep this review from spoiling too much, all I'm going to say is this: I HATED THE ENDING! I mean, it was written amazingly, and I figured something like this would happen but I really wish the book didn't leave off where it did. I actually had to force back tears.
In the end, Shadow Kiss left my head spinning and feeling every emotion I can think of all at the same time. The book, like the other two, never slows for a second which makes it nearly impossible to find a good place to stop. In fact, I don't think I ever did stop :P
Just like the rest, this book amazing which gives it a well deserved 5/5.

The second book in the Vampire Academy Series left us hanging leaving off with a horrid Strigoi attack which left Rose's friend, Mason, dead. The much-awaited third book picks up soon after the second book ends.
In order to test the soon-to-be guardians abilties, a trial period is held where each of the guardian students is assigned to guard a Moroi from the "Strigoi" (aka the teachers). Except things don't go always go as planned...Rose knows she's going to be Lisa's guardian as soon as she graduates. So why do they assign her to guard Christian, Lisa's boyfriend, especially considering how she can barely stand him.
On top of all that, after her first Strigoi kills Rose has also been...seeing things. Or more like, seeing Mason's ghost and she knows she can't tell anyone, not even Dmitri, or they'll think she's insane.
But when the Academy is attacked by Strigoi's, Rose is forced to make some serious decisions. Decisions which could force her to lose the person that means the most to her...
Reading it was easy, smooth and I just sat down and read the entire thing in one sitting. There were no points in this book where I felt like I could stop and finish it later.
All of the main cast of Frostbite appears again in Shadow Kiss. Adrian, one of my favorite secondary characters, plays a pretty vital role in this book as well. Hopefully he shows up in the fourth VA book. Now that certain people have died *lala you dont need to know who* maybe he can play a bigger role in the story. Relationships are further developed and the writing is superb.
Anyways, I reccommend this book to everyone. But first read the first ones (Vampire Academy and Frostbite)
