Vampires Rule by K. C. Blake took me by surprise. From the moment I picked up this book I did not want to put it down. I did not expect it to have the wonderful storyline that it has. Imagine a vampire turning mortal again. Jack’s transformation back to human brings a lot of problems with it. He is a great character. He was vulnerable, yet strong and young but very old. He meets a beautiful werewolf hunter named Silver. They’re destined to be together and kill the head werewolf, saving the human race. But that same destiny has a plan for Jack and Silver’s love life, which Jack’s vampire girlfriend doesn’t like. I fell in love with Jack. He is seventeen, handsome, and has a down-to-earth attitude. His great sense of humor had me laughing the whole time as I read the book. Silver is a strong, take-charge kind of girl who kicks serious werewolf butt. The romance between these two has lots of laughs, a few tears, but is definitely hot. Jack has a younger brother Billy who is now his older brother. This makes for a very funny situation. I also loved the villain. He is ruthless, yet he is a gentleman. He will rip your face off, but he’ll quote Robert Frost while doing it. He is deliciously insane. Vampires Rule has fantastic romance, humor, action, and I enjoyed reading this book from Jack’s point of view. Especially with his dry wit. The author is a superb storyteller who keeps constant tension going between the characters. This book has a wonderful flow to it. It is a fun and fast paced read. I believe we will see a lot of K. C. Blake in the future.

Good Points

Unlike in Twilight, the girl in this book kicks serious butt. She is a werewolf hunter named Silver, but the story is told from the vampire boy's pov. I loved Jack. He is strong yet vulnerable and young but very old. The villain is awesome too. He is insane, but he's a gentleman. He'll rip your face off, but he'll quote Robert Frost while doing it. I couldn't put this book down, and I laughed a lot because of Jack's sense of humor. His younger brother is now older than him, so that makes for a funny situation. I also cried near the end. this is a must read.
