WINTER LIGHT is an interactive board book that encourages playing with color and light. The book includes a poem about winter alongside a die-cut snowflake that builds and disappears throughout the story.
What I loved: This is a simple board book that is lovely to read. The poem rolls off the tongue and only includes a few words on each page, making the story turn quickly. The best part of the book is the snowflake that allows children to play with light and color by holding up to a light source. The colors build on the snowflake on some pages to show how they can change when combined. They suit the theme well.
What left me wanting more: As a small thing, the snowflake has a few breaks in the book, and this makes it more difficult to get light to shine through, as you have to bend back the book to get it through just one page if you want to play with the light.
Final verdict: Overall, WINTER LIGHT is an engaging board book that encourages young readers to play with color and light. This book will work well for older toddlers and preschoolers.
