Of all the Zodia Girl books, this has by far been my favorite. the main character, Tori, has a much more realistic situation in both her regular life and then her life when the Zodiac helpers come into her world. Tori has a secret that she feels she must keep from her friends. Her family isn't as well-off as the others and she has to shop in second hand stores--stores that the girls at school look down on.

Tori makes excuses for her clothes, claiming they came from out of town and lies and says her hosue is udnergoing a renovation because it is rundown and in need of new floors, etc. She avoids having her friends over as much as possible and when she doesn't have the cash for a movie, she pretends her mom got her concert tickets. She lives in fear her friends whill find out she's a "Discount Diva."

When Tori's mom falls on hard times, Tori must summond up her courage and talents (with a little help form her Zodiac guides) to help save the family. She does come clean to her friends and she begins to see her worth as morethan just monetary.

This book is the best of the series. It appears as if the books are set in the U.S., but yet they have the feel of Hopkins' English based books. I think they'd be better off set in England.
