This mystery/thriller/romance is forgettable. It's not one of meg cabots best books. When Jess was hit by lightning, she got the ability to find missing people. She'd given it up, except for in private, because the media was swarming her. It did not keep me reading....

I'm a big fan of Meg Cabot, so to be honest, I read this out of loyalty. It has Meg's signature wit and humor, but the story is predictable, a little bit lame if you ask me. Meg is trying to hard to make Jess sounds mature, tough and at the same time likable but maybe she's trying too hard.

This book was interesting. A girl gets struck by lightning and is able to find missing kids after looking at their picture and going to sleep. She's pursued by the government because they want to use her special skills. She lies to the public to get away from the government and the publicity. She tells everyone her "powers" are gone. But something happens so that she has to use her powers again. And then she's been found out that she does indeded still have her powers.

The plot is interesting, but it's one of those stories where the main character is always in some kind of danger and has to fight and save her life, and all that stuff. And truly, reading about those close-to-death encounters can get really boring sometimes. They just get tedious. So this book was good, but the action gets old.
