Seventeen-year-old Molly Montgomery never planned on becoming famous. Molly's band, The Hormones, was just supposed to be about mucking around with her best mates, Jane and Tara, and having fun. But when the deliciously dangerous Dean and his friend T join the band, things start happening fast. Soon The Hormones are front-page news, and their debut album is rocketing up the charts. Molly is the force behind the band, but the hazards of fame, first love, screaming fans, and sleazy managers are forcing the newly crowned teen queen of grrl angst close to the edge. Fame never comes for free, and Molly's about to find out what it costs.

i haven't read a boook greater than this one 'cause i've been reading alot and this is my most favorite! it is good for kids 13+ because there is a lot of cussing and offensive things.
molly is trying to figure out what she wants in life so she creates a band named the hormones, with her two best and only friends, they play at their first gig and then boom! here comes dean trying to get into the band and asking if he and his friend T can join too.

after that molly's life runs on an emotional rollercoaster. full of recording studios, rehearsals, gigs, photo shooots, premiers, and the most heart-breaking of all the great american tour, she finds out what real life is.
i don't want to ruin the book so readit and keep a box of tissues near by (so you won't have to use you're bedsheets from boogers and tears.)

"17- year old Molly Montgomery never planned on becoming famous. Molly's band, the Hormones, was just supposed to be about mucking around with her best mates, Jane & Tara; writing songs about Hello Kitty and being a girl. But when the group is joined by the deliciously dangerous Dean and his friend, T, things on stage - and back stage - start happening, fast."

I really liked the idea of a band that sang songs about Hello Kitty. That was probably one of the first things that drew me to the book. I really think that this is a good book to show what you have to look out for in life. Not necessarily when you're in the music biz, but in everyday life. I think that Molly got in way over her head, way to fast. I think that girls who are into music and the music scene would like this book, and it's also a bit of a romance book so others might go for that. I'd say it's good for 13+.

Molly just wanted to start a small band, play a few obscure gigs, and become a part of the girl-revolution. She had no idea that she would be plummeted into the ranks of rock-star fame and fortune. It all starts when two guys join the band and make some changes that draw the interest of a sleazy manager. Molly's band, "The Hormones," rides a wave of success but Molly soon realizes that fame is not what it's cracked up to be. Through a slew of interviews, concerts and press releases, Molly discovers that she is no longer making the choices and has no say in her band anymore. Even her love-hate relationship with one of her band-mates seems to be controlled by her manager. But Molly has signed a contract (even though her manager got her intoxicated at the time)and she stands to lose a lot more than her fame if she breaks it.
