This book was pleasant in some ways and irritating in others. Since we all like the bad news first, what I didn't like about THE QUEEN OF SECOND PLACE was it's main character, Cassie. She was selfish and annoying for the most parts. How could she be in love with a boy she's barely met? Plus, he (said boy) wasn't too great in my book either---too wishy washy.
That said, THE QUEEN OF SECOND PLACE does have its good points, one of them being the idea of everybody having a unique (and someimes unfortunate) talent. The standing in lines talent was hilarious (if you want to know what this is about, read the book :)) I also liked Cassie's "annoying" little brother, who was extremely talent. Where can I get a little bro like him?
All in all, this was a pleasant, although a bit forgettable, read. I'm probably going to try its sequel, QUEEN B.

this book made me laugh alot. I loved that cassie thinks everyone has some sort of talent, good or bad, even if they dont know it. She does some pretty stupid selfish things in this book but you have to fight for what you want. i found her shear beleiving that she would never be top anything, not even biggest loser, very funny and made me really want to read the second book. I think that this is a very well put together book that is very funny.
