The Year Of The Hangman is a novel by Gary Blackwood. This piece of literature is great for teens and adults alike.

 The
book is about an older teenager named Creighton that gets kidnapped and
shipped of to the colonies in 1777. In America he goes through all
kinds of adventures. He encounters pirates, rebels, and even Indians!!!
Throughout the book he matures and has to make critical decisions.

Blackwood did an excellent job developing the character and makes the book very unique. This is a great piece of historical fiction that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

The Year Of The Hangman is my favorite book and soars above the rest. I give it a 5 out of 5 stars.

I loved The Year of the Hangman. It's a 'what if' book. Histoical Fiction. Whatever you want to call it. I must admit, at first I had serious doubts. I thought, history is good enough.I dont really want to know if the British won. How wrong I was. This was an exciting and gripping book, because of course, you dont know whats going to happen. What if Ben Franklin got run out and was staying in Louisiana? What if Benidict Arnold wasnt a traitor? What if? Its an awsome book, and I would definately reccomend this both to people who love history, and people who think history is boring, because this book kept me up all night reading it.
