When you sit down and actually think about it, we use lists all the time. TV listings, class schedules, shopping lists, weve all been there at one time or another. So with all this emphasis on lists, why not actually turn all these lists into something useful?
Enter Life Lists for Teens. On the outside it looks life your average self-help book, but this is a whole new approach to the genre: the entire book is made up of lists. Even the introduction is lists. From the serious (24 Warning Signs of an Eating Disorder) to the interesting (7 Good Timesand 7 Bad Timesto Ask Your Parents for Something You Want) to the completely-just-for-fun (The 8 Clown Commandments), this book has just a little bit of everything. In fact, when the subtitle states that this book is full of tips, steps, hints, and how-tos for growing up, getting along, learning, and having fun its pretty much right on the mark.
Life Lists for Teens is also a great way to get the information youve always wanted to ask, but never had the chance. The style of each list is presented in a non-judgmental way, making sure readers can get the information they need in order to make their own decisions. Need an example? Try the list for 10 Reasons Not to Get a Tattoo or Body Piercing and then turn the page to find and 10 Things to Do If You Decide to Get One Anyway.
One of the best things here is the absolute flexibility this book offers. You can read it all the way through, you can skip around and read the stuff that interests you, or you can thumb through the table of contents to get help for a specific problem. Have you been stressed out? Theres a list for that. Need help with internet safety? Theyve got that too. Its all here at your fingertips. This is a great guide for teens who feel like they need a little direction in life. Weve all been there, and this is much more fun than normal self-help books.
So whats my absolute favorite list? The Last Words of 16 Famous People. Seriously, its worth picking up this one just for that&
