ARE METEORS THE FASTEST THINGS IN OUTER SPACE? is an engaging nonfiction picture book. It answers the question posed by title (light is the fastest), but also gives a good amount of information about meteors and the ways that we study them.

What I loved: This is an approachable book for children who are curious about outer space and meteors. The book does a good job at using simple language to explain the basics of meteors, and also address what the fastest thing in outer space is. The backmatter is particularly helpful for children who want to learn more with cool facts and a glossary.

Each page contains a few sentences along with large illustrations that capture the content well. This plus the simple language is perfect for early independent readers who will appreciate the approachable content as they read on their own.
