A straightforward book, this book gives you exactly what it advertises. Small mystery animals with cutouts and little bites of information to help lead kids towards guessing the creature. The images are cute and colorful. The cutouts are smooth and reveal exactly how much of the animal the creators want you to see. The bits of information given about each animal are small and bite-sized. They fit with the age range, though a couple of words may be new to younger readers.

A simple but fun book, PEEK-A-CLUE: ANIMALS AT HOME is a solid read for the young kids who like thinking and/or animals. The book mixes together mystery and education with its blend of information as well as fun images.
