"Am I Blue? Coming Out from the Silence" is a great book containing short stories from a variety of well-known YA authors. The theme? All of the stories address, in some way, being gay. lesbian, bisexual, or questioning. A lot of the stories are about gay teen relationships, but there are also ones about a teenage guy who is hiding the fact that his dad is gay, a girl who discovers that her boyfriend/ soul mate is in fact gay, and several teens who are just unsure about their sexual identity. The stories vary widely, and some are better than others, but there are plenty of excellent ones and many new perspectives for readers to consider. Highly reccommended for all teenage readers, gay or straight!
