This is an amazing book. It's in a time where families could only have a specific number of kids. One kid is the extra child and he has to hide all the time. The government will take him if he gets caught. One day he decides to leave the house and he meets another hidden child. It is all about what they see after coming out of hiding.

my history teacher began to read this book and i liked it so much that i checked it out from the library and as i finished it i looked for more books on this author. amazing how many great books she's written but this book was the beginning of 7 that the author wrote and it began in suspense and ended in it. i really like the main character who goes by the name of luke garner but changes it to go to a school. he's a third child and since this book is in the future, having more than 2 kids is illegal. once luke befriends a girl named jen, they begin a quest to be freed. it ends sadly but i won't spoil the ending by saying what occured, but this book is interesting and once you read it you'll want to read more! and don't worry there are 7 more books with the continue of the third children wanting to be free! this is a great book and i recommend it for people who love reading and for those who don't b/c once you read the first sentence you won't want to let go of the book!

I honestly believe this a good book. The author did a good job at getting us clung to wanting to know what was going to happen next. I also liked how he expressed each characters opinion about the goverment. What was reallysad was when Jen died, I almost wanted to cry. That is my opinion and personal experions with this story.

Among the Hidden is a page turner! I read this novel before I taught it in one day! Luke is so cloistered by his family to the point where he is unhappy! The real action is when he finds out that there are other children like himself. This book gives the insight into population control and what a country will do to keep the masses under! The ending was awful and not too far from the truth! I believe that this book should be distributed to every government official in places such as China, Cambodia and other countries who dictate to people how many children they can and cannot have!

"Among the Hidden" by Margret Peterson Haddix is a story that you can't put down. With all of the suspense, secrets and lies Haddix has you sitting on the edge of your seat. In no time Haddix will have you sypathising with Luke. By the end all you feel is inticipation, fear and nerves for Luke's next journey.

I thought Magaret Peterson Haddix's latest works was intriguing and suspenful. It's about Luke, a third child in a world that has a law against it. Then he meets Jen, another third child with a different opinion that his own. While LUke is willinging to hide out in his room for the rest of his life, Jen isn't afraid at all of the Population Police. Although childeren's fiction, this book had me at the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down! It's a faced-paced, action-adventure novel that will appeal to anyone willing to delve into the deeper side of things.

I thought that this book was very good. I liked the others also but I did not like the last one, Among the Free. There is no page for that one so I am posting my review here. I thought Among the Free was rather boring and that the title should have been something different, such as Among the Confused or Among the Rebellions because the title gave it away completely. I liked it but I thought it was boring and rather predictable. Despite my review, you should still read this book.

Lets just say that you have to read it to believe it. It is a science fiction book about a place that the parents are only allowed to have two children. If you have more than two children the child is either put into hiding, killed, or put into adoption. There is one family that has three children and the third child is named Luke. Luke is put into hiding. He leaves the house and finds a girl named Jennifer who is also a third child. Read this book and find out what happens when all of the third children rally outside of the goverment house. I liked this book but it was boring sometimes.
