Discovered in the attic in which she spent the last years of her life, Anne Frank's remarkable diary has since become a world classic—a powerful reminder of the horrors of war and an eloquent testament to the human spirit. In 1942, with Nazis occupying Holland, a thirteen-year-old Jewish girl and her family fled their home in Amsterdam and went into hiding. For the next two years, until their whereabouts were betrayed to the Gestapo, they and another family lived cloistered in the "Secret Annex" of an old office building. Cut off from the outside world, they faced hunger, boredom, the constant cruelties of living in confined quarters, and the ever-present threat of discovery and death. In her diary Anne Frank recorded vivid impressions of her experiences during this period. By turns thoughtful, moving, and amusing, her account offers a fascinating commentary on human courage and frailty and a compelling self-portrait of a sensitive and spirited young woman whose promise was tragically cut short.

It was the second book I read. This heartbreaking and touching story is the classic of classics.
The words come from Anne´s hearts and land in yours, you would feel what she feels, you feel like her confident, you will suffer with her an be happy when she feels happy, because thats what the books does, it makes you feel. That and the fact that is full of history makes it a wonderful book, everyone should read, no matter their age.

This story of a jewis girl is a most touching and heart felt. It is sad. The jew were misstreated and had a hard life. This book is about this girl life and what she went through. She lived through some hard times. Hiding and being afriad. This is not a good kind of life.  I really enjoyed this book. I read it for school. I loved it and i read it many times here after. It is a must read. It show you what you possiblity would have gone throught if you were a jew.

Great book based on her emotions and feelings in confinement. It inspired me to write Being Frank with Anne, a poetic interpretation of the diary. It's archived at the Anne Frank House and is being sold on the New York Anne Frank Center website bookstore. Anne's first cousin, Buddy Elias, read it and liked it too.

I think that almost everyone should read this book. It is a touching story of a real life girl named Anne Frank. She was a Jew during the time of the holocaust and wrote a diary through her struggles between living in the time she is in as well as family issues and growing up. I really liked this story and it is good to learn about the holocaust.

Anne Frank is probably the most well known victim of the Holocaust, and her story will live on forever in the words of her diary.
This book is horrible in some ways, but enlightening in others. Anne really portrays the fear that she held very well. She tells the truth of the Holocaust, one that we do not hear of very often. It's definitely worth the read, just make sure you can emotionally handle the subject...

This book is so sad. I can't belive that it is based on an actual time and place. I feel so bad for Anne and her family and everyone who was also persecuted for their beliefs.

Anne and her family go into hiding and are eventually found. This was a book about how the day to day struggles affected their life. I think that the whole time period was a very sad, depressing time, but the truth is that it was someone's life. People woke up everyday and had to deal with all these complications.

I encourage everyone who likes history to give this book a shot. It is very sad, but you will hopefully have a better understanding of the world then.

This is the diary of Anne Frank. She was a Jewish girl who lived in Holland during World War Two. She went into hiding in 1942 and was in hiding until 1944 when she was discovered by the Nazis.
In her diary she tells the story of her life in the "secret annexe" to one of her most trusted friends, Kitty. She tells about the people she has to live with and her first kiss! This is one of my favorite books, very enjoyable.
