I was laughing out loud as I read this hilarious, fast-paced novel by Michelle Jaffe.

Jas, aspiring supersleuth, is relaxing an enjoying the rest of the family vacation as the Venetian Hotel in L.A., and trying to attract the attention of the cute guy at the Snack Hut.

But all is not right. Fiona Bristol, the star of the you-know-what scandal, her son, their insane cat Mean and Dangerous Joe (mad joe for short) (who has taken a liking to Jas), Jas's father "the Thwarter, smiter of dreams," her evil cousin Alyson and Alyson's evil hench twin Veronique, Sherri!, the Fabinator, a murder just begging to be solved... all are conspiring to ruin Jas's peaceful vacation.

None of what happens is her fault.

Really.

The plot is mildly interesting, the characters a bit overdone, but the writing style and laugh-out-loud narration have made this one of my absolute favorite reads.
