I read this in one sitting and immediately wanted to fall asleep just to stay in the story!

Here are my top 5 reasons I couldn’t stop thinking about Before We Wake:

1. The dream world is pure magic!
The lucid dreaming scenes are soft, glowing, and surreal in a way that made real life feel a little dull by comparison. The contrast between muted waking moments and vibrant dreams is stunning and so emotionally effective.

2. The romance is messy!
Falling for your best friend’s boyfriend is already complicated now add shared lucid dreams where everything feels real. The tension, longing, and guilt had my heart doing gymnastics.

3. The concept hooked me instantly.
Lucid dreaming + paranormal romance + emotional self-discovery? I was sold from page one. The idea that dreams can be both an escape and a reckoning felt incredibly relatable.

4. The art tells its own story.
The visuals do so much emotional, heavy lifting color, body language, and atmosphere say things words don’t. I caught myself pausing just to feel certain panels.

5. It’s quietly powerful.
This isn’t just a love story, it's about holding yourself back, wanting more, and figuring out what it means to choose your own happiness. It left me thoughtful in that soft, lingering way I love.

If you enjoy dreamy graphic novels, tender paranormal romance, and stories that blur the line between fantasy and emotional truth, before We Wake is absolutely worth your time.
