What an awesome coming of age story of a fifteen-year-old girl named Rainey Cobb who's trying to decide if she wants to stay with her family's band or forge her own path. She was such a terrific, complex character and immensely talented; I also loved the character of Juliet, the rebellious, carefree daughter of the resort owner where Rainey and her family are playing, and who Rainey ends up falling for. When Juliet gives Rainey a mixtape of songs, it unlocks her secret longings and changes her life.
I loved how the story was set in the 90's, pure nostalgia! Hard to believe this is Benjamin Roesch's debut, it was really amazing! I loved it and couldn't put it down. A great read for summer! I'd love to read more by this author! I'd love to read the next book in the Rainey Cobb world, The Rest of Your Life Soundtrack!
