I
have read almost all of Mrs. Haddixs books. I find her books very mysterious
and unique.  Claim to Fame is
a new book about Lindsay Scott, the star of a hit T.V. show or should I say
was. Lindsays acting career was doing great, she had fans, good friends and
then she had what looked like a nervous breakdown. What really happened? She
started hearing what everyone said about her whether she was in the same room,
with them or not. Lindsays dad moved her to a small town in Illinois, where
she stays inside her house that somehow provides relief from the constant
voices. When a tabloid newspaper says that she is being held hostage by her
father, she learns there may be other people with the same problem she has and also
learns some things about her family.

           This
is one of Mrs. Haddixs best books. I love everything about it. I love the
parts when she tries to remember acting techniques to help her lie. I think the
message of this book is to not think so much about what people think of you. I recommend
this book to anyone who has read any other Haddix books or to people who like
books that make you think. This book really relates to real life and how people
are to worried about what people think of them
