What I liked:
If you read Game of Strength and Storm, you know that the Empresses hold the world in their clutches; if you want the impossible, you ask them. Gen did that in the first book and completed most of the tasks given to her, but now she has been tasked with two more to save her father's life. She must retrieve the legendary golden apples and the impossible beast Cerberus. This second book is full of snarling beasts, a slow-burning romance, a unique magic system, and impossible quests that use some creative imagination to complete.
Final Verdict:
I loved how this follow-up delved deeper into the complex characters through this set of seemingly impossible tasks.
